With her sharp eye and agile fingers, Sabine Blanchard carries an obsessive interest in everyday things. She revisits with force the "artistic" potential of a wide range of everyday objects. Distortion is her trademark.

"It is by inverting, combining and compiling that we apprehend the world differently".

Maintaining a graphic balance is a signature trait of her work, but her first objective is always to reveal the poetic gravitas of the objects in our everyday lives. Her work is now present in several private collections in France (Paris, Saint Tropez), Belgium (Brussels, Knokke le zoute), in the USA (San Francisco, Palm Springs) and in the Gulf (Dubai and Beyrouth).

When it comes to photography, Sabine has been inspired by David Hockney and some other masters: she deconstructs the scene to provide an alternative image and experience. The colours and scenery of the Middle East provides a great source of inspiration. Her montages, mostly black and white, are strong allegories of the connection between humans and their environments.

She declares herself versatile, juggling between sculptures, writings and illustrations. Sabine launched her blog, Bettydivine.com, the playground of her feminine alter ego. Betty Divine is also the main character of her second book but first novel, currently with the Editor : "Et divine, je suis devenue".

Since her arrival in Dubai in 2012, Sabine’s work has been published in the monthly Madame Magazine, illustrating with humour and tenderness the daily experiences of an expatriated Parisian in Dubai.

Pushed by her fan base, Sabine has finally decided to put together these colourful and fashionable drawings in a first opus, depicting the seasons and the cosmopolitan agenda of Dubai, the vibrant city she has fallen in love with.

“Diary of a Parisian in Dubai”was launched in Alserkal Avenue, the cultural heart of Dubai, in La Galerie nationale.

She recently collaborated with designer Sophie Masson. Her sleek drawings are at the core of "Inked", the new porcelain collection, which was launched at Maisons & Objets in Paris.
